VISTA, CA -- Waterless Co. Inc., a manufacturer of no-water urinals and other restroom products, is one of a select few of leading organizations, demonstrating their support for the Green Sports Alliance by sponsoring its next major symposium.
This will be the ASU Sports & Sustainability Symposium to be held Thursday, January 17 at Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium.
Among those attending will be regional and national sports professionals, collegiate sports teams, as well as the owners and managers of sports stadiums throughout the U.S.
The goal of the event, according to the Green Sports Alliance, is to explore ways that businesses, public leaders, sports venues, and athletes can work together to advance healthier more sustainable communities throughout the country.
"This year one of the highlights of the program will be its focus on ways the sports industry can use water more efficiently," said Klaus Reichardt, President and CEO of Waterless Co. "As a supporting member of the Green Sports Alliance we want to be part of their growing emphasis on water-related issues for stadiums and sports facilities."
Most mid- to large-sized sports venues use millions of gallons of water each year, mainly for landscaping, in restrooms, for cleaning, and food preparation. Further, some sporting events use even more water. For instance, according to the New York Times, teams that are part of the National Hockey League have historically used more than 300 million gallons of water each season.
