The Green Sports Alliance supports and honors women leaders making an impact in the sports industry through their work and commitment to environmental performance. Elaine Aye, LEED Fellow and President of Green Building Services, Inc. located in Portland, Oregon is an admirable example of this outstanding and ongoing leadership. Under Aye’s leadership, Green Building Services was a founding partner of the Green Sports Alliance in 2010 and continues to provide innovative sustainable building solutions.Recently, Elaine Aye was honored with a 2015 Women of Influence Orchid Award and named as one of the Woman Executive of the Year for Small/Medium Companies by the Portland Business Journal. The top 25 women professionals were honored and recognized at an awards luncheon on April 16, 2015. The event recognizes the region's most influential women. Nominees represent women from a wide range of industries and professions, women who have made a difference in their communities and are leaving a mark on Oregon.

GBS will host a special presentation at the Exhibit Hall Clubhouse Theater. The Summit will also feature the Women Sports and Environment Symposium. This year’s topic will be Raising the Bar: How the Green Sports Movement Can Leverage Lessons from the Women’s Leadership Movement. The Women, Sports & the Environment Symposium provides an opportunity to engage and support women and men from all sectors of the sports industry to further advance the green sports movement. This collaborative community discusses the role women can have in the development of a more sustainable future; using sports as an instrument of change to address community and environmental issues, while continuing to inspire each other to advance professionally.
