Jonathan Balas is a sustainability and architecture professional with a career built on the conviction that business success and environmental responsibility are inseparable. He brings a combination of design expertise, ESG strategy, and operational execution to his work — having led international cross-functional teams, managed complex building projects, and implemented enterprise-scale ESG data systems across diverse industries and geographies.

At Yum! Brands, Jonathan oversaw the design and construction of more than 30 LEED-certified buildings worldwide while implementing energy and water conservation measures across thousands of additional locations — generating millions of dollars in savings and meaningful greenhouse gas reductions as part of a broader decarbonization strategy. He also created the company's global ESG data collection and reporting program, providing transparency to investors and consumers alike. His contributions have been recognized with the Yum! Brands CEO's Achieving Breakthrough Results Award.

Jonathan's approach centers on smartly integrating sustainability into business culture, making data accessible, and driving progress through collaboration. His expertise spans sustainable design, renewable energy, value chain greening, and ESG reporting — and he is committed to helping organizations navigate the opportunities and risks that come with sustainable growth.
