New York City Community Impact Event for Green Sports Day - Hudson River Park Friends

Volunteer with Hudson River Park Friends on October 6 from 9:30am-12pm Eastern

Volunteers are invited to participate in gardening projects and learn about urban ecology and park stewardship. These diverse set of projects work to improve the natural spaces. This could include:

• Planting bulbs and plantsWeeding and debris collection

• Spreading mulch and compost

• Pruning, sweeping, raking

Project background: Hudson River Park’s 4-mile stretch of green spaces need the help of our volunteers to keep it maintained and beautiful for our city. Volunteers will learn more about Hudson River Park’s unique environment and receive training from professional horticulturists on gardening techniques.

All necessary tools, gloves and supplies will be provided along with an on-site orientation to the project. No experience necessary, just a willingness to work outdoors and get down in the dirt!
