Green Sports Day 2025
Green Sports Day’s Impact Community pillar challenges the sports community to take real action to advance sustainability and to promote healthy, resilient communities where we live, work, and play.
Below are some of our non-profit members who are dedicated to this work every day. We encourage you to partner with them for Green Sports Day activations both on October 6th and throughout the year!
1. The Giving Grove
The Giving Grove’s mission is to provide healthy calories, strengthen community, and improve the urban environment through a nationwide network of sustainable little orchards. Start an orchard in your community!
2. Ocean Conservancy - Protect Where We Play
Protect Where We Play is Ocean Conservancy’s bold, new initiative that aims to inspire a new wave of fan engagement and action by leveraging the sports and entertainment industries as a first entry point to activate a broader and more diverse array of “Team Ocean” advocates. Become a partner
3. Seacology
Seacology’s mission is to protect threatened island ecosystems all over the world. We do that by working directly with communities, helping them to preserve their cultures and improve their lives while saving precious island habitats.
4. Eco Sneakers
Host a shoe drive! Promote to your staff & fans to bring old shoes to the stadium to have them recycled by Eco Sneakers. Email Lynn at info@ecosneakers.org to activate!
5. Urban Bee Lab
Urban Bee Lab’s vision is to educate, inspire, and build community through research, programs, and partnerships. Learn more about how you can partner to improve bee health and take action in your community!
6. Reach Green
Reach Green is a nonprofit that harnesses the power of athletes and communities to protect the green spaces we all rely on through education, year-round programming, and fundraising. Join one of their community events!
7. The Value of Water Campaign
Participate in Imagine a Day Without Water on October 16 to help raise national awareness about the value of water in our lives – including in how we play!
8. Sound Future
Sound Future leverages the power of live events to restore nature, support farmers, and drive positive community impact. Support Sound Future’s Surf and Turf campaign!
9. Support + Feed
Support + Feed combats the climate crisis and food insecurity by working toward a global shift to an equitable, plant-based food system. Find an opportunity to volunteer or partner with Support + Feed!
10. Sports for Nature
Sports for Nature aims to deliver transformative action for nature across sports, by 2030 and beyond, enabling sports to champion nature and contribute to its protection and restoration. It provides a game plan for sports — at all levels — to accelerate and inspire others to take action for nature.
