2019 MLB All-Star Game Acheives Gold Level Certification by Council for Responsible Sport
The 2019 Major League Baseball All-Star Game has achieved Gold level certification according to the Responsible Sport Standards, as offered by the Council for Responsible Sport. This is the MLB All-Star Game’s second certification— a level up from the Silver level certification earned in 2018 in Washington, D.C.—and these consecutive certifications represent the first and only two professional team sports events to have earned this noble recognition out of more than 170 certified events. Engaging fans with efforts to divert waste generated at the event away from the landfill with the help of an enthusiastic green team, measuring plus offsetting the climate changing greenhouse gas emissions of operations and travel, and using the event platform to provide meaningful participation opportunities and support for under-privileged youth are just some of the things that earned this certificate and recognition.
